Our Story

The properties behind Ghosal Experiences didn't start as wedding venues. Founder Anjan Ghosal, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur, bought his first cabins in Tennessee — a state he'd never set foot in — within a week of a trip to Jackson Hole that convinced him he'd been missing an entire part of life. He was looking for mountains close enough to Florida for a spontaneous weekend, found the Smokies on a map, and made an offer.

What started as a personal getaway became a construction project. By his own admission someone who "can't change a lightbulb," Anjan learned to pour concrete, pull permits, and run a job site as general contractor. When the cost of building full-size cabins kept climbing, he bought raw land and switched to tiny homes instead — fully enclosed, year-round, and far simpler to build one at a time.

That land became The Grand Sojourn. The build was self-funded from the start, with no outside investors, so the property grew in phases as the budget allowed rather than all at once. Grading the site turned up limestone and rock formations the crew hadn't planned for, including a four-story cave system discovered underneath the property. The village kept growing anyway, tiny home by tiny home, into the 37-unit community it is today.

By 2023, the family had taken direct control of managing every property themselves, after one too many rounds of impersonal service from outside management companies. That same hands-on approach — plus a layout built around private units and shared gathering spaces — is what made these properties a natural fit for weddings. Business strategist Saurav Ghosal helped shape that shift: less a traditional wedding venue, more a small community where a wedding party could actually stay together.
